Nor'easter Flood Pictures in Sea Isle City

Well, the tidal flooding and wind were pretty bad down here, but thankfully there hasn't been too much rain. The only road not flooded was pretty much Pleasure Ave. We were pretty lucky, the water made it to the garage doors, but not inside. Both of my children had "flood days" and didn't have school (Sea Isle and Ocean City) I know others weren't so lucky. Here are some pictures I took around town.

Keep in mind these were taken 2 hours before low tide!! It was much worse at high tide!

Pre-Construction Opportunity for a Mashura Burger Home! Excellent Opportunity!

For the right person this will be a fantastic opportunity!!

Mashura Burger is doing a pre-construction/convey and construct opportunity at 142 49th Street. It will be a great deal and a beautiful home, with lots of upgrades (hardwood, granite, stainless, etc), and you can pretty much customize it however you want.

Right now it is a 5BR, 3.5BA (but if you want 4 larger bedrooms that can be done), it might have some bay views, but we are not 100% sure since they are building the library in the vacant lot and we don't know what it will block yet.

Right now he would sell it for $720K or $750K with an elevator. The exact home right across the street sold in June for $750K (no elevator).

The only catches for this deal is that the otherside who is developing the property would prefer to have someone who does not want to rent and that they have to have a substantial down payment of approx. $400K. If either of these apply to you this would be a fabulous opportunity to own a lovely Mashura Burger home! If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks!!

Pictures below are of the home across the street that it will be very similar to.

Sea Isle City Beach Nourishment Update

BEACH NOURISHMENT
August 31, 2009

Beach nourishment operations have been resumed; it is a 24/7 operation. The sand is conveyed via a pipeline which extends from the dredge in Corson’s Inlet to the area of the fill, currently approaching 43rd Street. The pipe will eventually extend all the way to 52nd Street.

Once the beach nourishment is complete, it will take several days to dismantle the pipeline. All beaches will remain open during the project with the exception of about four to six blocks in the area of the fill. As the fill moves to the South, the beach behind the fill will be reopened and the beaches in front of the fill will be closed.

Beach nourishment operations have been completed in the north end of the City, from 1st Street to 15th Street.

Questions regarding the project can be directed to Sea Isle City Director of Public Works, John Manganaro, 609-263-6000 X 3 or email at jmanganaro@seaislecitynj.us.

Sea Isle City Alert--Hurricane Bill

According to a recent update from Frank McCall, Director of the Cape May County Emergency Management Office, Hurricane Bill has weakened slightly but is still tracking northwest several hundred miles off the Atlantic Coast. Large swells generated by this storm will likely cause extremely dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents.

Heavy rain with slow moving thunderstorms could come at the time of high tide. Ocean side high tides are at 9:00 PM Friday, 10:00 AM Saturday, 10:15 PM Saturday, and 10:45 AM Sunday. Back bay high tides are approximately one (1) to two (2) hours later. Minor tidal flooding is projected Friday through Sunday. Water in the streets could be slow to drain. Heavy surf can cause beach erosion. Move vehicles and equipment to high grounds and out of harms way.

Sea Isle City Beach Nourishment Delayed Until After Impending Storm

UPDATE
BEACH NOURISHMENT

August 20, 2009

The dredge Illinois is moving to safe harbor in Cape May to weather out the impending storm. Beachfill operations are suspended until on or about August 26th. Once the dredge is re-established in Corsons Inlet, it will then continue to pump sand onto the beaches of Sea Isle City.

Beach fill operations are completed in the north end of the City and has moved downtown from 40th to 52nd streets. The downtown work has been delayed due to the impending storm.

Once operations are resumed, it is a 24/7 operation. The sand will be conveyed via the pipeline which has been set up and extends from the dredge in Corson’s Inlet to the area of the fill. The pipe will eventually extend all the way to 52nd Street. Once the beach fill is complete, it will take several days to dismantle the pipeline. All beaches will remain open during the project with the exception of about four to six blocks in the area of the fill. As the fill moves to the South, the beach behind the fill will be reopened and the beaches in front of the fill will be closed.

COMING SOON! Farmer's Market in Sea Isle City

Came across this new release on Sea Isle City's official website and wanted to pass it along!

NEWS RELEASE MAY 27, 2009

SEA ISLE CITY, NJ

Farmers Market Begins This Summer to Host Fresh Jersey Produce

SEA ISLE CITY— New Jersey, the “Garden State”, is known for the abundance of fresh produce it offers, explains Rachael Morrison, Executive Director of Sea Isle Revitalization. For this reason, the revitalization committee has decided to hold a weekly Farmers Market for the 2009 summer. The Market will begin on June 30th and run until August 25th. It will be held every Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.

The market will begin on JFK Boulevard and continue down Pleasure Avenue. There are people constantly joining the market so its length will vary with the number of vendors each week.

The Farmers Market will consist of local farmers from all over the state, as well as many other vendors, including bakers and florists. Sea Isle Revitalization created the market not only to promote the local fresh Jersey produce, but to give visitors another reason to come visit Sea Isle City.

Fees to participate in the Farmers Market are $25.00 per day or $180.00 for all nine weeks of summer. Checks should be made payable to “Sea Isle Revitalization”. The Market is looking for a wide variety of products including herbs, breads, cheeses, and Jersey grown fruits and vegetables. Vendors may only bring up to three items that are not Jersey grown. For additional information please contact Rachael Morrison at seaislemainstreet@yahoo.com or by calling (609) 271-8989.

City Wide Bulk Trash Pick Up--Thursday 6/4

City Wide Bulk Trash is scheduled to be collected on Thursday June 4, 2009.

One of the Best Deals in Sea Isle City!!

Just wanted to pass along a new listing in Sea Isle City that I think is a fantastic price! It is located at 125 72nd Street, East. It was built approx. in 1989, is 4BR, 2BA and has the original kitchen and baths, but everything is in excellent, immaculate condition. One major update is the new maintenance free decks. It also has bay views and a peak at the ocean. Excellent South end location! This home will NOT last at this price--$599,999!! In my opinion, this is one of the best deals in town!! Don't wait!

We are now at 73 homes that have sold or gone under contract in Sea Isle City since Jan. 1st. It has been an interesting market down here! It picks up one week and then slows down the next.
