Farmers Market Begins This Summer to Host Fresh Jersey Produce
SEA ISLE CITY— New Jersey, the “Garden State”, is known for the abundance of fresh produce it offers, explains Rachael Morrison, Executive Director of Sea Isle Revitalization. For this reason, the revitalization committee has decided to hold a weekly Farmers Market for the 2009 summer. The Market will begin on June 30th and run until August 25th. It will be held every Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
The market will begin on JFK Boulevard and continue down Pleasure Avenue. There are people constantly joining the market so its length will vary with the number of vendors each week.
The Farmers Market will consist of local farmers from all over the state, as well as many other vendors, including bakers and florists. Sea Isle Revitalization created the market not only to promote the local fresh Jersey produce, but to give visitors another reason to come visit Sea Isle City.
Fees to participate in the Farmers Market are $25.00 per day or $180.00 for all nine weeks of summer. Checks should be made payable to “Sea Isle Revitalization”. The Market is looking for a wide variety of products including herbs, breads, cheeses, and Jersey grown fruits and vegetables. Vendors may only bring up to three items that are not Jersey grown.
