Well, the heavy rainstorm we received last night and this morning washed all of our snow away. There are a couple of streets that are flooded on this dark and gloomy morning, so if you are in down watch out!
The 13th Annual Polar Bear Plunge is this upcoming weekend and will be held on Saturday, at 2pm, at JFK and the beach. If you are feeling adventurous you can still register! Same day registration is 10am to 12pm at LaCosta Lounge at JFK and Landis and the cost
is $25. There is a post-party at the LaCosta Lounge right after the plunge--free food and live entertainment!
If you have never experienced the Polar Bear Plunge before, it is quite an experience and lots of fun! There are hundreds of people who brave the frigid temperatures, air and water, many in costumes! This will be the final year of the reining Ice Queen, Irene Jameson, 82 years old, who rides in on a throne made of ice. Irene has been the queen for the past 12 years and has raised over $30,000 in donations for the family activities held in Sea Isle over the summer. She is quite an inspiration! Go Irene!
